Central Coast residents looking to take their recycling to the next level have been invited to participate in a new soft plastics recycling trial by Central Coast Council in partnership with recycler iQ Renew, and their partner Nestlé. The trial, which is now full, aims to reduce the amount of soft plastics going to landfill and its impact on the environment by enabling residents to recycle soft plastics using their yellow recycling bins.

Participants will be provided with Curby bags and tags to collect their soft plastics. The tagged bags will be placed in their yellow bin, the soft plastics will be separated and diverted from landfill and used to create other products.

Please remember, we cannot accept any plastic bags in the yellow lid bin for recycling yet and you will only be able to place them in the yellow lid bin as part of the trial utilising the special bags and tags for easy sorting and recycling.

To find out more about the trial, visit the Curby website here.  Please continue to recycle your soft plastics through the REDcycle bins at Coles and Woolworths.
