Keep Your Street Neat

When you place your rubbish on the kerb, the magical fairies don't just come and take it away. You need to book in a Bulk Kerbside Collection before placing your rubbish out on the kerbside! Let's keep the Central Coast beautiful and Keep Your Street Neat!

Items which are too bulky, too heavy or too big to be collected in your bins may be able to be collected as a bulk kerbside collection. Central Coast Council provides its residents with up to 6 on-call collections every year.  Each collection must be no more than 2 cubic metres in size, which is roughly the carrying capacity of a standard box trailer. A kerbside collection can be for garden vegetation or for general household items.

Please review the following guidelines prior to booking this service.

Bookings are essential - Scroll down this page to find out how to book this service, including a link to our online booking website.

Bulk Kerbside Collection Guidelines

To ensure your materials are collected please review the following guidelines.

How much waste to place out for collection:

  • Households with a standard domestic service are entitled to 6 bulk kerbside collections per year
  • The maximum size of one collection is for 2 cubic metres (roughly the carrying capacity of a standard box trailer)
  • If you have more than 2 cubic metres, you must book additional clean ups to cover the amount that you are presenting
  • If bulk general items and bulky garden vegetation are placed out at the same time, they must be neatly placed in separate piles on the kerb and this will count as a minimum of  2 kerbside collection services
  • Bulk kerbside entitlements are reinstated to 6 collections each year on the 1st of February

Please note: If you have not booked in enough bulk collections to cover the amount of waste you have placed on the kerbside, additional collections may be taken from your entitlements to cover the amount of waste placed out so it can be removed for you. If no entitlements are remaining for your property, the waste will be left at the kerbside for you to dispose of yourself.

How to present the bulk material for collection:

  • You must book your bulk kerbside collection before placing your items out for collection
  • Once booked, please ensure your bulk collection material is placed at the kerbside the night before your collection day
  • Material must not be placed out for collection more than a day before your service
  • Place items on the kerb in front of your own property at your normal collection point for your bins
  • Items must be placed out neatly to ensure our staff can safely access and handle your items
  • Material must not obstruct footpaths, walkways or disrupt pedestrian travel
  • Do not place items out that are unsuitable for collection - they will not be collected
  • If bulk general items and bulky garden vegetation are placed out at the same time, they must be neatly placed in separate piles on the kerb and this will count as 2 kerbside collection services
